On the sea side, the roads are fragrant with citrus, mimosa or stone pines and the turquoise water coves are a delight for a winter picnic, or for a swim in the spring or fall. Come and discover this paradise, walk and breathe in the rhythm of the colors and scents and taste the sweet pleasure of Eze, a famous fortified village, of La Turbie and the atmosphere of old Nice.

Destination: The tour takes place on the east side of the Alpes-Maritimes, at the heart of the "Riviera", from the Italian border to the heart of Old Nice, via Monaco, Beaulieu sur mer, Saint Jean Cap Ferrat …

Day 1

Late afternoon, arrival and reception at the Hotel in Menton. This resort is nestled at the foot of towering peaks, hilltop villages brighten the pastoral and agricultural surroundings.

Day 2

After a short transfer journey, trek to Castellar, the first hilltop village we come across on route. Here the olive trees take the place of the lemons and oranges. Then we come to Monti and St. Agnes, revealed at the last minute. Evening Meal and night at the St. Agnes Hotel (760 m).

Day 3

Climb to the Baudon Summit from St. Agnes, a village perched on La Cime de Baudon (1266 m), with a 360 ° view of Menton Bay and the lush Cap Martin to the south, the highest peaks of Mercantour National Park to the east, the Esterel mountains and the bay of Saint Tropez to the west. Evening Meal and night at the St. Agnes hotel.

Day 4

St Agnes – Gorbio – Le vieux Roquebrune with its castle and thousand year old olive grove. – Cap Martin and return to the coast. Going from a hilltop to a medieval village, on the mountainside, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. These places are full of architectural and natural treasures.
Evening Meal and night in a hotel in Menton.

Day 5

Les Balcons de la Cote d’Azur. Transfer by train to Monaco. The trek climbs up magnificently to the village of La Turbie. The route continues all day along the mountainside path, with a panoramic view.
Evening Meal and night at a hotel in Beaulieu-sur-Mer.

Day 6

Beaulieu sur Mer – Villefranche sur Mer and their vaulted alleyways – Old Nice, its harbor and the Baie des Anges. Small ports take the place of the colorful hilltop villages. The turquoise waters of Cap Ferrat, the fortifications of Mont Boron and the coastal path and cliffs of the Cape of Nice. An amazing and wonderful day. Evening meal and night at hotel in Nice.

Day 7

End of stay. After breakfast, go and explore the old part of Nice, the flower market and the famous “Promenade des Anglais”.

What you need to know …

Dates: All year except: Easter weekend, May 13th – 16 (Monaco Grand Prix), National holidays: Christmas, New Year, June 30th and August 31st, 2010. Dates are subject to accommodation availability at the time of booking.

Level: *- Medium. This Itinerary is for walkers with a good level of fitness, it covers all types of terrain, climbing from an altitude of 300 to 700m.

The price includes:

– transport to Menton and from Nice.
